Alan Roberts trained with Morihiro Saito
Shihan from 1988 to 1993 at the Iwama
Dojo in Japan. He continued this
relationship with regular visits and
overseas seminars, acting as uke and
interpreter, until Saito Sensei’s passing in
2002.
Roberts has been the chief instructor of
Aikido Auckland Seishinkan in
NewZealand since 1994, runs intensive
retreats, and teaches workshops around
New Zealand and overseas. He was
awarded 6th dan (Aikikai) in 2017.
