Terms and Conditions of Membership

Takemusu Aikido Canterbury is totally committed to safe practice. Aikido is however a martial art, and by its nature involves some risk and unpredictability. Permanent and serious injury could possibly result from practicing Aikido. Therefore I, (the individual named above as applicant ) recognise and agree. (a) That the practice of aikido could cause injury to myself or another person. (b) To carefully follow the training instructions given and the dojo rules for etiquette and safety at all times during my practice of aikido. (c) that Iam not required to perform any techniques or practice in any situation which I consider to be unsafe, in which case I agree to notify the instructor immediately of my concerns. (d) that where i have an illness, condition, disability, or injury that could place me or another person at risk in any manner whatsoever during training, I will verbally notify the instructor prior to training. I agree to assume the risk of my illness(s), Disability(s), injury(s), or conditions(s) being aggravated during aikido training. (please note details of any existing conditions below). (e) to hold hold Takemusu Aikido Canterbury and their instructors, members and agents, free from any and all liability, claim or demand, whether tortious or contractual, no matter how it is caused, and I will indemnify them of any loss of property or compensation for injury to myself or any person as a result of my practice of aikido. (f) to stop training or leave the dojo if requested to do so by the instructor.

We often take photographs during seminars and gradings and when children receive their certificates. The images are used to help promote the club, through our website, and other online media.

Fees

Takemusu Aikido Canterbury Membership Fees 2021 The payment options listed below, fees may be made monthly or yearly for adults and term by term for children. Payments for fees are to be made electronically via your internet banking. Please note it is the responsibility of members to stop any automatic payments if there terminate membership - no refunds will be given for over payment. Being up to date with your membership fees is a prerequisite for both grading and taking your place at training - sorry but "NO PAY - NO AIKIDO" If you are setting up automatic payments you must include the details below: Termination of Membership and fees In cases where a full years payment has been made and membership terminated, a refund of fees can be made. This however will be done on a pro-rata basis to a MAXIMUM of half the fee paid. Adults Option 1 Monthly direct deposit Adult members (over 18yrs) : $45.00 per month Adult Student (With current Student ID) : $40.00 per month Adults Option 2 Yearly - Direct deposit for one full year. One full year will run from the date of your deposit or first training session. Adult member : $450.00 Adult Student (With current Student ID) : $390.00 Children Option: Children (under 18yrs) : Per term payment Term 1 - $70.00 Term 2 - $70.00 Term 3 - $70.00 Term 4 - $70.00 Two or more members of the same family receive a 20% "Family Discount" discount on the total fee payable. ("The Family discount" cannot be applied if paying for "Adult option 2" full year as This option is already discounted).
